Coalition supporting reproductive rights launches advocacy website

By: - November 30, 2018 9:00 am

People who want to support reproductive rights – from promoting access to birth control, sex education and information about abortions – can now go online to, a new website backed by a reproductive rights coalition called Floridians for Reproductive Freedom.

The coalition is made up of more than 50 organizations and includes the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates and Progress Florida.

The new website outlines policies and other initiatives the coalition supports or opposes, and includes information on how to spot “crisis pregnancy centers” – which promise women free ultrasounds and pregnancy tests but do not offer abortion services and dissuade women from making that choice.

Part of the website’s mission is to reduce the “stigma associated with abortion,” the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health policy director Charo Valero said in a statement.

Executive director of the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates Laura Goodhue said the website “now makes the needed tools to effectively advocate available to every Floridian who wants to join our cause.”
